Homework

Math: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students will have a check-up sheet coming home for homework on Thursday night. This will help them prepare for the test on place value that we will take on Friday.

Reading/Spelling: I am sending home a purple contract. Please hand these in next Monday. THERE IS NO VOCABULARY THIS WEEK.

BOOK REPORTS: Please remember that I pushed the date to January 26th for book reports. The genre is historical fiction. If you do not have a rubric of what needs to be done, please have your child let me know.


Tuesday, January 12th – PTA Reading Store. During school, students will be able to go down to the gym and collect rewards for all home reading minutes. Thank you for sending in the purple sheets so I can keep track of reading minutes for your child.

This Week

This week we are starting the water cycle for science. We will be focusing on the following vocabulary words: vapor, water cycle, evaporation, condensation, freezing, and thaw. Please ask your child what he or she is learning in science this week. I am excited about this unit and hope we have fun learning about the water cycle!

In math we are finishing up our unit on place value. Students will need to be able to identify the place values in a 6-digit number. They will also have to order these numbers from smallest to largest. The homework this week will help students prepare for the test on Friday.

I appreciate the help we had at the Christmas Party last month. Students had a great time. I hope everyone enjoyed their break!
