Tuesday, January 12th – PTA Reading Store during school. Please return all purple reading sheets so students can be rewarded for home reading.
Wednesday, January 13th- PTA Book Exchange from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Students have been bringing in books for this exchange. You may go at this time to pick up different books.
Monday, January 18th- NO SCHOOL. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
April 17th- Kite Festival. I am sending home the reading chart for this festival. You just fill in reading minutes all the way up to April. If you bring this calendar to the festival, your child will receive a free kite.
This Week
This week we are continuing learning about the water cycle. We are currently graphing the evaporation of water in our classroom. Students learned the difference between evaporation and condensation. This week, we will tie it all together while learning about the water cycle.
In math we are starting a new unit on money. I appreciate all the homework that is coming back in. These problems definitely help reinforce concepts taught in class.
In writing we are starting a unit on expository essays. Students will need to explain how to cook, bake, or make something to eat. I hope they have fun with this assignment!
